Experience Christ Through Discipleship
Taking one year of your life to go through GFA World Discipleship Program will teach you to live an orderly and Christ-centred life. This is taught through spiritually formational practices; practices which will give you a solid foundation in your faith to live purposefully for the glory of God.
Being in [the Discipleship Program] has taught me that it is through dying to myself that I find true life in Jesus. I feel more alive than I ever have, and am grateful to God for this year.
Through this year God has challenged me and given me the ability to do new things. He has also renewed my desire to read His Word, to pray and given me a new love for His people.
This year I learned the importance of leaving everything behind in order to pursue the heart of God, exchanging my desires for His and saying not my will but thine be done.
When I am filled with Christ everything else will fall into place. I don’t need to strive for more peace, joy, patience or love. I need to pursue Christ because He is all of those things.
GFA World (formerly: Gospel for Asia)
We have been committed to serving the "least of these" since 1979, often in places where no-one else is serving. We are able to show the love of God to these people for the first time.
GFA World's first Core Value is knowing the Lord Jesus more fully and intimately. As a community, we seek to live out this value daily through prayer, and discipleship.
Throughout this year you will learn how to experience an incarnational spirituality. Tools to assist you as you walk as a disciple of Christ include challenging book studies, spiritual disciplines, and a structured schedule in GFA World's community life.
We believe strongly in the power of prayer here at GFA World, and it has a prominent place in the program. As you journey through your year, you will be able to pray with us regularly as we intercede for peoples around the world.
When I am willing to die to myself and totally submit to His will, He can begin to work in me. Change happens through the work of the Holy Spirit but I have to make the choice to allow Him to work in me.
